Let’s just cut to the chase…the last few years have been R-O-U-G-H!!

I don’t know anyone who isn’t suffering from pandemic fatigue.

I find myself frequently, wishing this year away and saying things like:

“I can’t wait until this year is over!”

“Bring on a new year!”

“Can this year be done already?”

“F YOU 2020 & 2021” – okay, maybe that one is a bit too aggressive, but you get my point!

I mean really…

is this a way to live life?…

just wishing it would be done and gone?

The reality is none of us know how much time we have left in the hourglass of time on Planet Earth, and truthfully, I don’t want to look back on the last few years as a time that I “endured” and “suffered through”.

And although we don’t have TONS of days left in the calendar year, I’ve decided to make the most of whatever I’ve got!

Even if “what is” is not really my ideal situation.

And the first shift comes from my mindset. #chinupbuttercup

For most of 2020 and 2021, I have spent the majority of my time feeling sad and angry about all the experiences that have been taken away from me.

In 2020 our oldest daughter was a senior which in SoCal essentially meant no school events, no sports, no activities, and no high school fun at all. #worstsenioryearever

So to say that was a “year of loss” is an understatement.

But what good does focusing on that do?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big advocate for releasing your feelings, having a good ole’ ugly cry, and letting the disappointment go, but where I’ve been getting stuck is staying in that place of grief and loss.

So, I’ve decided the best way to combat the “This Pandemic’s Been a Bitch Blues” is to focus on all the things I am grateful for.

In all honestly, I’ve completely lost sight of all the blessings I have in my life because I’ve been kicking and screaming (figuratively and sometimes LITERALLY) my way through the last few trips around the sun.

Just how am I going to do that?

Well, I’m so glad you asked…

It’s actually a quite simple solution…

With a GRATITUDE JOURNAL, an open heart, and a commitment to spend a little time each and every day of November (or any month if you are reading this, and it’s not November) being in the vibration of gratitude and writing all the GOOD SH*T in my life down on paper.

Seriously, November is the PERFECT month for a gratitude explosion since it the month of Thanksgiving, and it still gives me a couple of months to turn this wreck of a year around (maybe not in the outside world, but certainly in my mind).

And you know, I’m NOT one to NOT have a plan,

AND I am also NOT one to miss the opportunity to create an oh so pretty printable worksheet.

So I made myself (and you too!) and handy dandy gratitude calendar to keep myself on track and accountable to writing in my gratitude journal every.dang.day!!

Here are a few helpful hints to get you started in shifting to an “Attitude of Gratitude”:

1. PRINT IT

First things first. Fire up that printer and grab yourself a copy of this “30 Days of Gratitude” printable calendar.

When you have a hard copy on hand, you are more likely to stick to it!

Heck, I’m printing two copies and putting one on our fridge, and forcing, um… I mean ENCOURAGING my family to share what they are grateful for each day too. #overachiever

2. COMMIT TO IT

Set a time aside EVERY DAY to get quiet & reflect on all the blessings in your life.

This does not need to be a lengthy commitment!

“No Stress. Do Your Best. Forget the Rest”

My goal is to simply spend 5 minutes each evening jotting down in my gratitude journal what made the day great.

3. WRITE IT

Whether it’s in a spiral notebook you already own, or inside of a planner you already use, or if you are like me and want something a bit more special you can buy a gratitude journal.

I picked my gratitude journal up at Home Goods…so cute, right?!?

4. REMEMBER IT

Last but not least, put your gratitude into motion by saying affirmations or placing gratitude quotes around your home, car, work, living spaces, etc. to remind yourself to focus on the good in your life.

Here are a few of my fave affirmations

– I am so grateful for all of the joy, love, laughter, and abundance that surrounds me every day of my amazing life.

– Gratitude, appreciation, and thankfulness are a part of who I am.

– Thank you for the immeasurable blessings that this day will bring!

– My life is filled with goodness, abundance, and limitless possibilities.

I also am a big fan of positive quotes, and these are a few of the ones that resonant with me the most…you can even snag one below and put it on your phone/ computer background as a constant reminder to stay in a state of gratitude.

Here are my 3 favorites, and I used the first one as my phone wallpaper!
