Here in the Weber Abode, we are working on becoming as "green" as we can be.

It's honestly a work in progress toward switching from one-time usage products to more sustainable, reusable household items.

Instead of feeling like you need to make massive changes overnight, my recommendation is to take your time and swap out one item at a time, so it will feel less overwhelming.

Lucky for us, there are tons of great options on Amazon, so you don't have to search all over to find earth-friendly swaps, but finding a local shop that carries similar items is a great idea too (and better for your community economy to support local businesses)!

(Note: The links in this post are Amazon affiliate links, and we will be compensated when you make a purchase by clicking through our links. Read our full disclaimer policy here.)

Here are My Favorite Reusable Products for the Kitchen

1. Glass Storage Containers

I was given a set of Glass Storage Containers, and I LOVE them!!!

They are a much better alternative to plastic containers or plastic baggies because they are BPA-Free & FDA

Approved & Leak Proof. 🙌🏽

Bonus!! They are also oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe. So. Darn. Versatile.

2. Reusable Silicone Storage Bags

I also got a set of Reusable Silicone Storage Bags as a gift, and they are a game-changer!

I hate using plastic baggies, so these little beauties are a great alternative because they are food grade safe and super durable. They also have an airtight seal so you can even put liquids in them!

There are other silicone storage bags on the market, but I recommend these because they are clear so you can see the contents and each bag has a different color slider bar to help keep things organized.

You can also store them in your cabinets, refrigerator, or freezer, so they are perfect for "to go" lunches or leftovers.

3. Stainless Metal Straws

These stainless steel metal reusable drinking straws are actually on my next Amazon order!

This set comes with 4 straight and 4 bent straws plus 2 brushes, and their length is ideal for 20oz tumblers, Yetis, or a regular drinking glass, making them perfect for coffee, lemonade, juice, or a cocktail (cheers to that! 🍹).

Every day these straws will help lighten your carbon footprint, and they are made of food-grade 18/8 stainless steel with no metal aftertaste. Plus, they are plastic-free, dishwasher safe, reusable, and environmentally friendly.

Seriously, pretty darn cool, right??

4. Reusable Beeswax Wrap

I've been wanting Bee's Eco-Friendly Reusable Food Wraps for a LONG TIME now! ( Hey, Weber Kids, Mother's Day is coming up...hint! hint! 😉) , I am eyeing this set because they come in three sizes (1 Small, 1 Medium, 1 Large). In case you aren't familiar with this product, it's a sustainable, natural alternative to plastic wrap.

These reusable beeswax wraps last about one year when used several times each week, while traditional plastic products are used for a matter of minutes and can linger in our environment for 2,000 years or more and won't biodegrade. 😳

They are also washable, compostable, and reusable! There are quite a few other products like this one, but I love that these are made of organic cotton, sustainably harvested beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin.

The Bee's Wrap company is Green-America Certified and committed to using their business as a vehicle for social change. ♻️ WOW! Can I get a round of applause for that? 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽

5. Mesh Grocery Bag Tote

I have one of these Cotton Net Shopping Tote Reusable String Bag Organizers - good guess, yes, it was another gift 🎁...My family and friends know me so well!

This bad boy can replace those plastic bags you get at the grocery for fruits and veggies. They are strong, durable, and can be machine washed!!

6. White Cloth Napkins

I hate to even admit this...but we still use disposable napkins! AAH! Yes, I know it's time to trade them out, but I'm taking my own advice about swapping one thing out at a time!

When I do buy reusable napkins (very soon, I promise!), these Utopia Kitchen Cloth Napkins are the ones on my list!!

7. Stainless Steel Food Container

Anyone else have kids or a hubby that needs portable lunches?

This LunchBots Trio Stainless Steel Food Container is the bomb, biggie!

With one big compartment that’s perfect for a sandwich and two smaller sections designed for sides, your entire lunch fits in one container.

It's perfect for lunches, healthy snacks, sides, or finger foods on the go!

Plus, it's eco-friendly, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free!

8. Mesh Produce Bags

Ditch the baggies and plastic produce bags!

These Purifyou Premium Reusable Mesh/Produce Bags come in a set of 9 in varying sizes!

They are BPA, Lead, and Mercury Free, and made in a facility free from harmful manufacturing chemicals with the highest standards of quality.

So they are safe and eco-friendly! They also have a LIFETIME warranty, so you can depend on their quality and durability! It's amazing how versatile these bags are because they are not just for produce, you just might find all sorts of household items to use them for like laundry delicates, small sports equipment, beach trips, gym clothes, school lunches, toys, office supplies, camping, road trips, and virtually any form of household organizing you can imagine.

The thing I love the most is that with every purchase, a portion of the profit is donated to help promote sustainable living around the world. You best add these to your next Amazon purchase!

9. Cloth Kitchen Towels

Looking for a replacement for paper towels? Then this 24 pack of Cloth Kitchen Towels may be exactly what you need!!

These soft featherweight towels are made from super-absorbent ring-spun cotton that is so soft to touch yet extremely durable and fast drying.

These towels are lint-free and lighter ribbed construction which results in less time needed in the dryer, therefore, saving time and energy costs. With these reusable paper towel replacements, you are helping the Earth in a few ways!

Good news...once you make the initial investment, you won't need to keep buying plastic and paper products!

You will save money and the environment by ditching single-use products. Your pocketbook and the Earth will thank you!! 🌎❤️

Cheers to making a difference, and cheers to you!🥂

Let's be is passing us by in a flash!!⚡⚡

Every night when I go to bed, I usually have at least A MILLION things (well, maybe more like a dozen but it totally FEELS like a million) that I had intended to get done that just didn't get accomplished.

My to-do list just never seems to get shorter no matter how hard I try!

I recently have been taking inventory of the things that consume my time, because honestly, I'm not sure how the days go by so fast, and I feel like I just can't get it all done!

Laundry, errands, cleaning, cooking, walking the dog...

Don't get me wrong that is all stuff that needs to eventually get done, but does any of it truly matter in the big scheme of life? (I'll give you a hint, the answer starts with an "N" and rhymes with "GO").

I've been giving quite a bit of thought to what really DOES matter...creating authentic connections with friends, showing my loved ones what they mean to me, and living with more joy and gratitude. (you know, all the mushy stuff of life)

So I've decided to put more of THOSE things at the top of my daily priority list. (Yep, you are moving down the list, laundry!)

With it being almost the beginning of February (The Month of Love💖) I can't think of a better time to share the love with my kids and hubby in a tangible, physical way.

First on the list is my main squeeze, my rock, my hubby, Gavin (AKA Mr. Organizen).

We've been married for over 21 years (holy shiznit, that's a long time! 😳).

Like many couples, our life gets ultra-busy, and we don't always show each other how much we care because we are distracted by kids, pets, jobs, bills, life responsibilities, reality tv (okay, maybe that's just me!).

How do you combat all those things that need your constant attention??

With a PRINTABLE of course!!...well, actually you combat it with INTENTION, the printable just helps you stay on track! (have I mentioned I'm obsessed with making printables??)

Want to see what fun I have in store for my guy this month??

👇🏽 Check it out!! 👇🏽

(PSA - It's a PG-13 Printable...might get a little steamy!! 🔥❤️)

(Click on the images below to access the printable PDF)

Feel free to use some of the ideas I've shared or create your own...the important thing is to show your partner how much you care.

💓Remember - the little things are the big things! 💓

Here's another non-February printable version in case you are wanting to do the marriage challenge another month! The most important thing is that you have fun with it!

Next up on my LOVE LIST for February are my kiddos...

Honestly, the Webettes (our cutesy, little nickname that they totally hate) are awesome! (I truly mean that...not just saying that cause they may stumble upon this blog one day) They are funny, smart, kind, genuine, and just all-around stellar people.

And do you know what? I definitely don't tell them that nearly enough!

What am I gonna do about that??

Yell it from the rooftops!!! Well actually that would be SUPER embarrassing, so I'll leave them cute little notes of love and encouragement in these little Valentine mailboxes I got from Target's "Dollar Spot" a few years ago!!

The MONTH of LOVE is definitely going to be epic here in the Weber Abode!!

Hope you are spreading the love to the ones you care about most too!! 💖

What are some things you want to do for the people in your life? I would love to hear from ya' and get some of your ideas I can steal!!

Until next time, cheers to loving the ones you are with, and cheers to you!🥂

Out of time? Pin me for later!!

The first few weeks of the New Year have flown by and as quickly as your resolutions have flown out the window (I mean being rich, thin, and perfect is way overrated, anyway) the eagerness that you had for your ONE WORD theme for the year is probably starting to wane too...

Welcome to the club, sister...the backslide is real!  * (If you haven't chosen your ONE WORD, it's never too late...I've shared how to make it an easy, fun, and meaningful process here)

So, how the heck do you keep up the momentum and stay focused on your ONE WORD for the whole year??

Well, you are in luck, because I have some kick-ass ideas of how to stay the course that are easy and more importantly...MEGA FUN too!! Get the Glitter Ball Ready!!

1. Make a Mind Map

Mind mapping is a creative way to brainstorm how you can practically incorporate your word into all the most important areas of your life.

If you are not familiar with mind mapping, you are probably thinking "What the hell is that?  Sounds painful"!!

Well, I can assure you it's not going to cause any pain!! I'll walk you through how I mind mapped my word "Alignment" from 2019 (because I'm trying to erase pretty much everything from 2020 from my memory!), so you get a concrete visual of the process.

A. First I placed my One Word in the middle of a blank sheet of paper.

B. Secondly, I labeled the 8 main components of my life (Family, Home, Friends, Health, Community, Financial, Career, Spiritual/Emotional)

You can use whatever categories resonate with you so feel free to create your own customized headings. (Click on the image below to get my printable PDF version)

D. I chose to print mine and frame it, so it's a constant physical reminder of my word.

I've attached my completed Mind Map from a past year below to give you some ideas - feel free to use the blank template above to make it easy peasy!

The most important part of the process is to have fun with it and reignite your enthusiasm for your word.

2.  Create a Vision Board

Unless you've been living under a rock (and it's totally cool if you have been), you are fully aware of what a Vision Board hubs (AKA Mr. Organizen) and I have been vision board practitioners and enthusiasts for over a decade and honestly, they are super powerful tools!

I'm pretty sure my vision board from 2008 got a certain someone elected (Barry, you can thank me later in person). 🇺🇸

One of the biggest fears people have around vision boards is that they think it will take a long time and/or feel like they need to be Picasso to create one.

PSA - ATTENTION PLEASE: Don't stress if you are not a crafty can make vision boards on Pinterest, you can cut and paste images on a word document, and you can even create vision boards by making a PowerPoint presentation and watching it each day. #noartexperienceneeded

I hang my vision board above my meditation alter so it's a constant reminder that I see daily.

3. Read Motivational Books

Create a reading list of books that will continue to inspire you and keep you on track throughout the year.

My word for this year is "Magic" and look at all of these books I've added to my reading list to help me maintain my focus on making this year the most magical one yet!

4. Wear It

Okay, I know this suggestion sounds super cheesy, but if you've ever met me, you'll know I'm a total cheese ball (like you haven't already noticed if you've read my other posts), here it and wear clothing that reflects your word.

I am a total sucker for inspiring t-shirts, and honestly, I feel like my energy shifts when I'm wearing my "open heart, open mind"'s like I am a walking billboard for my positive vibe....that's why I've gotta get one of these shirts...oh yeah!!

Just for the one is stealing the "Queen of Cheese" crown 👑 from me...not today, or anytime soon!

If t-shirts are a bit too over the top for you, you can even go for something a little more a mantra band...aren't these such pretty reminders?

5. Add it to your To-Do List

If you are a "To-Do" List kinda chick, then add your word to your list!

Yes, I'm a total To-Do Diva, so you know it's on my daily "To-Do List". It's pretty darn powerful to write down the word M-A-G-I-C every single day!

6. Choose and Look for a "Sign"

In our family, the number 11 is a sign that all is well and we are in alignment with the MAGIC of life, so anytime I see 11, I think of my word!

Want to see where I've happen to see it over the last week 2 weeks...

The address of the cabin we just rented for our family vacay in Big Bear, CA.

The time of the moment our new Madam Vice-President walked down the stairs at the inauguration.

Magical reminders are around everywhere if you are just receptive to see them!

Another one of my "signs" is a butterfly so anytime I see a butterfly, I take a breath, smile, remember my word, and remind myself to trust the MAGIC of life.🦋

7. Print a Sign

Since I am a very visual person, having a physical, printed sign is super helpful for me.

Each year I print a quote that has my word, frame it, and put it somewhere in my house that I will see every are my last few years...

"Happy", "Self-Care"  and "Enough" were my words and these little reminders are still in my bathroom and office space.

8. Find a Partner

Maybe it's your spouse, friend, neighbor, or random person you met on Meetup...find an accountability buddy to check in with on a daily or weekly basis to share how you are incorporating your word into your life and how you are showing up as your word!!

I'm a bit over-zealous on this one and have two accountability partners, one for family life and one for business!!

9. Set a Daily Reminder

Last but not least, and certainly the easiest suggestion I have for you...

Set a reminder on your phone every day at a time that simply reminds you of your word. I send myself a reminder every day at 11:11 "All I See is Magic" (notice the time 😉).

I also decided this year to set my phone screen saver as a reminder:

So just's all about embodying your word and creatively reminding yourself about it as often as possible. Engage in activities and thoughts that prove you are "living" your word and truly feel it. BE YOUR WORD!

Until we catch up again...cheers to your ONE WORD and cheers to MAGICAL, magnificent YOU!! 🥂
